Those hapless souls stand quite tall
Amidst a carpet of wrinkled leaves
Having shed their crown of brilliant gold,
Loom lifeless, like charred skeletons bared
No more selfies, no more hugs
No oohs and No more awws,
Not as much as a doting glance
Not one, cares to stop by !
As I grieve, the dismal downfall,
A howling wind whispers in my ears –
‘Just wait and see,
What Spring will bring !’
Oh yes ! Sure we know !
A burst of a zillion blooms
Dainty in myriad hues
Will lure them in, once again!
